About Cville Classic Cars

Steve Messere and Joe Messere teamed up to purchase Cville Classic Cars in 2023. The brothers bought the business from Bill Hall, who opened as a one-man shop in 2009 and had grown the business and a wonderful client list for 14 years.

Steve has been at Cville Classic Cars since 2018, first as a technician and then as the Shop Manager and now Owner. Before that Cville Classic Cars, he spent his career in the new car dealership world. Having graduated from J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College with a degree in Automotive Mechanics, this is the career path he has always planned towards. Steven is a third-generation mechanic, as his father and grandfather owned multiple Gulf and Citgo stations, along with Jack’s Auto Service and Jack’s Towing Service located in Richmond, VA, throughout the 80s and early 90s. Steve came along after they had gotten out of the car business, but always had an interest in cars that has stuck until this day. His first restoration was a 1979 International Scout that he completed during his senior year in high school.

Joe is a United States Merchant Marine Academy graduate, Navy veteran, and has a background in Engineering and Management. He is currently a Construction Manager for an Engineering firm and supports Steve and the family business as needed. He comes with a wealth of knowledge from other ventures, and we are glad to have him and what he brings to the table.

Joe and Steve would like to recognize the current team at Cville Classic Cars for being the hard working, diligent and talented craftsmen they are and for their unwavering support and excitement for the future of the shop and the restoration industry. Finally, we wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for our customers, so with that we say thank you! We appreciate all of the restorations we’ve been honored to perform, the backlog of work we have that continues to grow and all of the upcoming jobs for years to come! We wouldn’t be where we are without our customers.

We look forward to seeing and talking to each of you!

- Steve and Joe Messere

Fourteen years ago I started Cville Classic Cars. My intent was to run the business for four or five years, then retire and do retirement stuff. However, life has many paths and before I knew it the business was doing well and I was thoroughly enjoying interfacing with customers and a growing team. Our success has been derived from teammates who bring skills and talents to the business and have a caring attitude about meeting the expectations of our customers. Our overriding success has been you, our customer. We have always striven to be transparent, focused on meeting your expectations, and working to bring value at a reasonable price. As I’ve said many times, if customers are pleased with our work then they will serve as our marketing staff. That’s exactly what has happened and I am very grateful for your support of our business.

So, after fourteen years I am now ready to retire and do retirement stuff. I am pleased to announce Steve and Joe Messere will assume ownership of the business on July 1, 2023. Steve is our current shop manager and has been with me for four years. The business will be in very capable hands as Steve brings a wealth of technical knowledge and skills and a keen focus on meeting your expectations. Joe will continue with his day job but brings prior experience in small business and will be supporting Steve and the shop and he looks forward to working with all of you. The support from those who are aware of the transition has been outstanding. You will hear from Steve and Joe in the near future.

In conclusion, I couldn’t be happier with our new ownership. They will continue to have a sharp focus on our customers. To our customers I want to say “thanks” from the bottom of my heart for your support over the last fourteen years. I will miss the day-to-day interaction with all of you. I wish you all the best.
