Restoration
Cville Classic Cars is pleased to offer a full array of restorations services. Our scope of work can be very narrow or cover a full restoration of your vintage vehicle. We restore vehicles from 1900 through the 1970s, with some exceptions. We offer interior and exterior body restoration, engine and powertrain restoration, in addition to mechanical and electrical restoration.
Restoration Process
Consultation
We begin every single project with a complete and thorough inspection of the vehicle to then discuss the vehicle’s needs in relation to the customers wants,
expectations and budget.
Exterior Body Restoration
On all of our complete ground-up restorations, we strip the vehicle to bare metal so we unearth all of the rust and corrosion problems as well as any poor repair work done previously. We then perform metal/fiberglass repairs to limit the amount of body filler needed on the project. We then follow this with epoxy priming the vehicle for the absolute best rust encapsulation and protecting as well as best adhesion of the following work. The remaining steps are bodyworking, panel fitment and then finalcoating application, whether that is Single Stage or Two-Stage (Basecoat/Clearcoat). The bulk of our restorations are completed as body-on-frame projects but we do have rotisseries and lifts as well as the ability to do frame-off as a customer desires.
While we are not a collision shop, and do not work on late model vehicles we do work on Classic Car Collision jobs directly for our customers. We do schedule these separately as
we can while honoring those who have been waiting in our que.
Interior/Upholstery Restoration
We offer a range of interior/upholstery work including, but not limited to, re-upholstery, re-carpeting, insulation and heat/soundproofing, re-conditioning interior chrome and other trim, restoring dash panels and doors as well as convertible and vinyl top replacement. While some of this we do in house, interior and upholstery work is probably our largest sublet. Our upholsterer of choice is Danny’z Uniqiue Upholstery
Engine and Balance of Power Train Restoration
We offer the full range of powertrain services, including; engine and transmission rebuilds, differential and suspension rebuilding, tuning and other services.
Miscellaneous Mechanical and Electrical Restoration
In addition to the noted work above, we perform restoration services on the remainder of mechanical and electrical systems including wiring harness checks/repairs all the way to complete rewires and 12V conversions.
